In beginning of October, Sharpfin successfully closed a new issue of shares with approximately 4MSEK raised from both existing and new investors.
The large interest in the new issue of shares occurred at a 52MSEK pre-money valuation, which is a 45% valuation increase over the 2018 share issue. The issue was successfully closed despite the general uncertainty in markets and among investors who have been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
“We are humbled by the trust placed in us by existing and new shareholders alike, and are determined to invest these funds in the wisest way possible,” said Markus Alin, CEO Sharpfin. ”We can now carry out necessary strategic investments in our sales operation and marketing, with a focus on accelerating sales to new customers and the development of existing customer relationships within asset management and among family offices.”
Sharpfin is owned by the founder-duo Markus Alin and Billy Svensson, staff, and strong partners including external investors from both Sweden and abroad. These investors include successful entrepreneurs such as the founders of MySQL and Storytel.
Sharpfin has leveraged its partnership with Venture Partner firm Katalysen & Partners during the process, who became an important source of advice and a bridge to new investors. “We strongly believe in Sharpfin’s service offering and business model,” said Peter Almberg, CEO Katalysen. “Our network recognizes the great scalability potential in Sharpfin’s product, and I am convinced that the future holds great growth potential for Sharpfin in both Sweden and the rest of Europe.”
